About Trailer Trash

Trailer Trash is a national trash removal business with depots in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and the Gold Coast.

Founded in 2006 in Melbourne, the rubbish removal business expanded into Queensland (in both Brisbane and on the Gold Coast) and New South Wales in 2009. Expansion into Western Australia occurred in 2010. Skip bin hire depots opened in Adelaide in January 2011.

Philosophy

The philosophy of Trailer Trash is to use creativity and innovation to reduce the cost and energy expenditure of processes in the waste, storage, and transport industries, and therefore offer competitively priced and environmentally responsible solutions to the traditional skip bin rental market place.

By examining specific rubbish bin hire processes – often processes that have been in place for decades – and evaluating them in an unconventional way, significant savings can be brought to industry and subsequently, to the environment. And reducing the energy required to perform a task reduces the bin hire cost for the end user as well.

The Trailer Trash Mobile Skip Bin

The first product launched by Trailer Trash was a four cubic metre skip bin. Traditional rubbish skip hire are lifted by heavy vehicles despite the fact that a considerable number of skips are filled with light waste.

By mounting a front-lift skip bin on a trailer, a number of problems associated with traditional skips were solved, and considerable savings were made in energy and effort with respect to transporting this waste.

The innovations brought to traditional skip bins led to two Australian Innovation Patents.

By containing and sealing the waste beneath lids, Trailer Trash depots are located closer to our customers. Our delivery distances are therefore shorter. And as we tow our bins using conventional cars and utes, we use much less fuel than trucks that haul skip bins. As a result we minimize greenhouse gas pollution.

At the depot, our loads are consolidated, so up to 15 bins are disposed of at a time, whereas traditional skips for hire have to take bins to disposal sites individually. Again, this reduces costs and energy use.

The result is a simple solution that utilises existing structures in the waste industry in new and innovative ways to reduce cost and effort.

We have a creative solution: we use less energy to do the same job. As a result our bins cost you less, and cost the earth less as well.

This comes without inconveniencing the end-user. In fact the Trailer Trash trailer-mounted skip bin has specific advantages:

• It allows customers to move the skip close to the rubbish.
• It stops driveways from being blocked. It does not require a council permit (which saves the customer up to $70).
• The lids stop unauthorized filling at night.
• Customers can pick the bins up themselves, and save more money.

How Did The Mobile Skip Bin Originate?

Frustrated with the limitations and costs of immovable skips, the team at Trailer Trash decided that there must be a better way to get rid of garbage and waste from building sites, commercial businesses, and residences. The answer: Combine a skip bin with a trailer. The result is simple and ingenious: a moveable skip bin that is easy to move and inexpensive to hire. Our designs led to two Australian Innovation Patents.

New Designs

We are constantly refining the product. Modifications of the design are underway, with two further design refinements already in use. Further innovations will be incorporated on our latest design: TT 004.

Build Quality

The Trailer Trash Mobile Skip is made to the highest of standards, with many features to make it easy tow, and easy to use.

The trailer is sturdy, using components from truck technology to lock the bin to the trailer. The bin is commercial quality 4.5 cubic metre dumpster bin.

The result is a road-registered trailer skip that tows smoothly, can be hired inexpensively, and offers a cheap, flexible and manoeuvrable solution to waste removal on work sites or at home.
